Simple dish lovers,
Green lentils, yellow lentils, and black lentils, are unique in color as well as in taste.
Black lentils mixed with minced garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil was one of the main dishes that mama prepared on a regular basis and which I grew up with.
Today, I have bought the split green lentils instead of the black lentils and cooked them to perfection.Here is my recipe:
Ingredients:
1/2 cup split green lentils
Salt
1 tbsp cumin
Pinch of caraway
2 lemon juice
2 minced garlic
Drizzle of olive oil
Pita bread
Preparation:
Place lentils in a pot. Add salt, cumin, caraway. Add 2 cups water and cook for 45 minutes on medium heat
Place lentils in a bowl. Add minced garlic, lemon juice, and olive oil (about 1/3 cup)
Garnish with parsley
Create little pita boats and dip in
Enjoy/Sahtein
