Ingredients:
2 cups fine Jareesh (cracked wheat)
1 cup fine burgul ( fine cracked wheat)
Salt
Black pepper
Cumin
1 pound ground beef
1 chopped onion
2 lemon juice
2 tbsp dry mint
1/2 cup vermicelli
1 cup chopped parsley
1 tbsp ginger
1 tsp garlic
Directions:
In a bowl, mix the burgul and Jareesh with salt. Add water to form a paste. Cover and leave for 20 minutes.
* The texture of Jareesh/ burgul mix should be like the texture of oatmeal when you add water.
In a saucepan, add a little oil and sautee the chopped onion. Add ground beef, salt, black pepper, cumin. Cook on low heat.
Prepare the Jareesh/ burgul paste into tiny balls. Stuff the balls with ground beef mix and close to form the shape you desire ( round or oval shape etc)
Bring a pot to a boil, add salt, garlic, ginger, lemon juice, black pepper, and parsley.
Add the Jareesh/burgul balls into the boiling pot
Add vermicelli
Cover and boil for 20-25 minutes on low heat
Add dry mint
