Some call it Laban Ummou (Mama’s milk) others call it Mrabba Il Laban (yoghurt Jam) and yesterday I have misread and made a biiiig mistake and cooked Laban Ummou in whole milk vanilla yoghurt instead of plain yoghurt.What a sweet yummy mistake! Yum
Ingredients:
2 pounds plain yoghurt if you like sour yoghurt . Vanilla if you like sweet
2.2 pounds fillet mignon
1 tbsp cornstarch
Salt
1 chopped onion
1 pound green fava beans washed and chopped into small pieces
1 tbsp minced garlic
1 tbsp cumin
1 bunch chopped cilantro
1/4 cup olive oil
Preparation :
In a skillet, add 1/4 cup olive oil. Heat skillet and fry onions. Add garlic to skillet. Add green favas. Sautee on high heat for 5 minutes. Add salt and cumin. Add 2 cups water and cook favas on medium to low heat for about 35 minutes or until water is completely absorbed.
Add chopped cilantro to cooked favas. Set aside
Prepare a pot. Miss yoghurt with cornstarch. Place yoghurt on stove top. Add a pinch of salt and continue stirring until you bring yoghurt to a boil.
Cut mignon into small pieces and saute in a skllet with a drizzle of olive oil and a pinch of salt for couple of minutes.
Add mignon to cooked yoghurt
Add favas to cooked yoghurt
Simmer for 5 minutes
Serve with rice
