Seven beautiful ingredients to create a delicious cold appetizer, Loubyeh b zeit (green beans and olive oil).
Ingredients:
1 pound green beans
1 cup chopped tomatoes
1 chopped onion
3/4 cup garlic
1/3 cup olive oil
Salt
Black pepper
Pita bread
Preparation:
Heat oil in a pot
Add chopped onions and sautee until dark brown
Add salt and black pepper
Add the beans. We say in arabic "nasfi" which means do not stir the beans. Hold the pot handles and shake the pot up and down. Nasfi/ shake beans for 10 minutes.
Add the garlic and the tomatoes.
Add salt
Add 2 cups water
Simmer beans on low heat for an hour
Serve with pita bread
