Foul and Hummus, a popular breakfast known all over the Middle East. It can be a high protein breakfast, high energy lunch, or easy to prep dinner.
Ingredients:
1 can of mixed fava beans and chick peas
*If you cannot find the mixed can, mix 3/4 cup fava beans with 1/2 cup chick peas
1 small minced garlic
1 lemon
1/3 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cumin
Pinch of red pepper (optional)
Olive oil
Mint, parsley, tomatoes for garnish. You can also add green onions and radish
Pita bread
Preparation:
Empty the bean cans in a small pot
Heat on low
Place in a bowl
Mix garlic, lemon juice, cumin, and salt. Add to foul and hummus (beans)
Mix well
Drizzle olive oil
Garnish with parsley, mint, and tomatoes
Hold a pita bread, your fingers, and dip in!
