Ingredients:
1 shot Illy espresso
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 egg
3/4 cup sour cream
1/3 tsp vanilla powder
Dash of salt
1 tsp baking powder
1/3 tsp baking soda
1 cup flour
1/2 cup butter
*These ingredients for one layer cake
Topping:
1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
1 tbsp cinnamon
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 cup semisweet chocolate chips (melted)
Preparation:
Heat oven to 350 degrees F
Grease a small round baking pan
Combine the topping ingredients: The nuts, the cinnamon and the sugar. Set aside
In a mixer, mix butter and sugar. Add the egg and the sour cream. Add flour, salt, baking powder and baking soda.. Add a shot of espresso. Pour the batter in a pan. Bake for about 25 minutes. Remove and place on a serving plate.
In the meantime, prepare and mix another layer of batter.
Add the topping ingredients on top of the second batter. Bake
Remove second layer of cake and place on top of the first layer.
Heat semi sweet chocolate. Let stand for 3 minutes. Crumble on top of the espresso cake.
